Most people use their kitchens as a do-it-all room to eat, have company, and do everyday tasks.
The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house, so it is essential to choose a design which will enable efficient use, and be a pleasure to spend time in. A kitchen design layout could be L-shaped, U-shaped, a galley kitchen, on include a central free-standing food preparation area, depending on the space available and your personal preferences.
The most important first step however, is to accurately measure the kitchen area. All measurements should be taken in millimeters; accuracy is vita, as errors made at this primary stage will have major knock on implications later in the design process.
Do not be limited by walls. Interior walls can be knocked through utilizing dead space in adjoining rooms. A good change to make if you are often hosting meals is to open the kitchen and dining area to allow to both cook and socialize at the same time.
When measuring up, remember to factor in immovable objects such as doors, windows, pipes, and plug sockets. You may find that it is easier to incorporate a good design by repositioning some of these items. Remember that changing these things are possible, but it will cost you a bit more. For instance, to make your design more efficient, you may need to change things such as door directionless, but is one which can make access easier and will direct kitchen traffic in a much more efficient way.
A good place to proceed with the design is decided on the location of the larger kitchen objects. The most important, the stove, refrigerator and sink are the easiest to start with. These three appliances should be placed to allow efficiency while working in the kitchen.
Positioning the sink under the window is a good option to maximize light, and being located on an exterior facing wall will aid plumbing and drainage. The fridge and the cooker should ideally be separated by as counter surface to ensure efficiency of energy. Having work surfaces on either side of the cooker, assists with the ease of getting meals ready, and locating the refrigerator close to the door avoids unnecessary traffic through the preparation triangle.
As soon as you have your new kitchen design designed, you can then incorporate your sense of style and flair by choosing materials. Your family will appreciate the effort and unique style you put into their favorite room of the house.
