Pick out the area that you wish to redecorate, pick up a copy of this article, and you good to go. With a few extras which are written within this article, you can soon have a space which uses the power of Feng Shui to its best ability, having been decorated using these rules.

Feng Shui was originally a Chinese technique which was used to help encourage balance and harmony within the occupants of the places decorated using it. In more modern times Interior Designers, and specific Feng Shui consultants a like have been using the principals of Feng Shui to decorate many areas. But not everyone can afford to hire an Interior Designer or a Feng Shui consultant to decorate their home and office for them, but that is not necessary.

This is something which you can do for yourself. Learning the rules of Feng Shui decorating is not especially difficult and there are many great resources on the web, or in book shops, which you can utilise to great effect. And another one of these great resources is this article. This article will quickly run through some of the basic rules of the Chinese art of Feng Shui.

Feng Shui has a strong focus upon the natural elements of our environment around us. This means using the every day elements that we take for granted, but which can be utilised to help us when we surround ourselves by them. One such element is that of fire. The element of Fire is said to encourage motivation, and so obvious by having fire colours, or elements of fire within your work space, this could motivate you to do better work.

So how can you use all these elements together? By using candles in your room, or by painting your room with a colour from the fire element, you can be sitting calmly in an atmosphere which will ensure that you are constantly motivated by your surroundings. Then you can utilise the calming influence of water by having a small water feature in your room.

There are many small water features which are relatively cheap to buy. These are not just for the outside, there are some which can be bought that are specifically for a table or desk top. These will be small little water fountains that use a small pump to continue to make the water flow. Water is said to calm and steady the mind, keeping you focused, and so having a small water feature in your office can really help your work along.

Earth is perhaps the easiest and most commonly used of the three elements in a physical form. By bringing in plants and spreading them around the room, you can harness the nature power of the earth and unlock your creative nature.

If bringing in things such as fountains, candles and plants is not for you though, these rules can be implemented in the easiest way possible. Simply by painting your room using these colours. Have fiery reds to promote warmth and passion in your life. Cooling blues to calm and relax you, as wells helping you to distress. And if you have a creative job or lifestyle, paint a room greens and browns, a place which will allow your creativity to reign.
